Job Description

We're looking for an ML Engineer with strong Azure data engineering and machine learning experience to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise across Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and PySpark, and is comfortable working with cross-functional stakeholders to support data-driven initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Design and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture using Azure Data Factory
  • Build and manage ETL workflows through Azure Databricks with a strong understanding of the Spark framework
  • Assemble large, complex datasets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements
  • Build infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources using SQL and Azure big data technologies
  • Create data tools to support analytics and data science teams in optimizing products and workflows
  • Work with stakeholders across executive, product, data, and design teams to address data-related technical needs
  • Collaborate with data and analytics experts to improve functionality and scalability of data systems

What You Bring

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Machine Learning
  • Strong PySpark and SQL skills with a solid understanding of the Spark framework
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering and machine learning workflows
  • Familiarity with Azure security practices and DevOps pipelines
  • Experience working with cloud platforms including AWS and Snowflake is an asset
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Eligibility for a mandatory background check

Nice to have

  • Experience with Power BI for analytics and reporting
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices for data pipeline deployment and management
  • Prior experience in a regulated or enterprise-scale data environment

Roles & Responsibilities 

Platform Administration: 

Manage, monitor, and maintain AVI Networks and VMware NSX platforms. Perform routine health checks, upgrades, and patch management. 

Incident & Problem Management: Respond to and resolve incidents, service requests, and outages related to AVI and NSX environments. Troubleshoot and analyze root causes, implementing corrective actions. 

Configuration & Change Management: Implement configuration changes and updates as per change management processes. Document configurations, processes, and procedures. 

Performance Optimization: Monitor platform performance and proactively identify areas for improvement. Tune load balancing, network segmentation, and security policies. 

Collaboration & Support: Work closely with application, network, and security teams to support business requirements. Provide technical guidance and support to project teams during deployments and migrations. Compliance & Security: Ensure adherence to organizational security policies and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and implement necessary controls. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive operational documentation. Generate regular reports on platform performance, incidents, and changes.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation, tools, and applications for cloud-based data platforms 
  • Support and optimize AWS services including EMR, Glue, and S3 for ingestion and analytics workloads 
  • Manage and monitor operational health, performance, and upgrade cycles of data platforms 
  • Work with data lake architectures, supporting ingestion (Zone 2 – Curated) and derived datasets (Zone 3 – Derived) 
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code 
  • Perform incident management including triage, troubleshooting, and resolution 
  • Support data operations such as reruns, recovery, and schema-level changes in controlled environments 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including cloud operations, delivery teams, and platform partners 
  • Drive cost optimization and performance improvements using metrics and data insights 
  • Contribute to next-generation platform transitions (e.g., EMR to Snowflake/Iceberg pipelines) 
  • Identify, escalate, and remediate cloud risks and vulnerabilities 

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Technical Skills

  • Strong programming experience in Python (primary), Bash/Shell scripting, and SQL 
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services: EMR, EC2, Glue, Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation 
  • Experience with Data Lake architectures and related technologies 
  • Knowledge of Snowflake and Apache Iceberg 
  • Understanding of Glue Catalog and Hive Metastore 
  • Familiarity with Data Mesh architecture 
  • Strong Linux system administration skills 

DevOps & Automation

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines 
  • Infrastructure automation and scripting expertise 

Operational & Support Skills

  • Production support experience: incident management, diagnostics, escalation 
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools 
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and access controls (IAM)
